About the FLEX Program
The One World Schools FLEX Program is designed to introduce elementary students to foreign languages and cultures. Although foreign language proficiency is not the goal, we get them excited about language learning and expose them to different languages and cultures to begin the process of making our students global citizens. Each grade level from 1st through 5th receives instruction in a different language: 1st grade learns Spanish, 2nd grade learns French, 3rd grade learns German, 4th grade learns Chinese, and 5th grade learns Latin. It is an exciting program.

How do we generate excitement and expose our students to the foreign language?
Our lessons include a number of activities including songs, videos, drawing pictures, games, etc. Some teachers also label items in the classrooms with the appropriate language. You can view what we do in German class by using the navigation bar above.

- Other vocabulary including topics like family, numbers, food, colors, clothing and more.
- Cultural norms including holiday celebrations, politeness, procedures etc.
- Folk tales from the target culture
